Extension of AEP Powerstart 500
Application for Engine rooms
Parallel connection of ultracapacitors
Reverse battery protection
UPS systems
Battery support during charging
We often hear about fleet owners experiencing battery ”problems”, even in the summer when it isn’t cold. The high electrical load on modern trucks and especially coaches will drain the battery’s, causing the voltage to drop so low that the critical systems won’t work anymore. Our unit will crank the engine at all times and can also wake the vehicle (in dead battery situation) by powering the critical systems (such as Multiplex, MCU, etc.) From the ultracapacitor module as well.
Configuration may vary per application.
We have 2 types of configuration:
Parallel start
Dedicated start
Parallel start
By a parallel configuration, the powerstart stands parallel with the batteries.
Current profile parallel start
Yellow: Current from the Powerstart
Blue: Current from the Batteries
Once the Powerstart is paralleld to batteries a current of 100A flows to the batteries
During the start a peak appears of 1000A from the Powerstart and 600A from the batteries.
After the 1st peak: Cranking of 2,5 seconds is provided almost totally by the Powerstart.
Dedicated start
By a dedicated start the Powerstart provides all power for starting the engine.
